Villa Dominante is only a few minutes walk into the bars and cafes around the village square at the centre of Montauroux. The butcher around the corner offers excellent local produce, and the baker sells freshly made breads and pastries. The village’s tennis courts, which are open to the public, are at the end of the street.

Montauroux is a classic Provence hill town, with meandering narrow streets, a bustling village square and views down into the valley. The town was founded over 1,000 years ago by the Grimaldi family. Christian Dior is among the many people since to have chosen Montauroux for a summer residence.

Montauroux is 50 minutes from Nice Cote d’Azur international airport, with additional UK and other international connections to Toulon airport (1 hour away) and Marseille airport (1 ½ hours away).

The neighbouring hill town of Callian can be seen from the villa’s terrace – Fayence is five minutes beyond Callian and holds a large open-air market every Saturday.

Cannes and the coast are 30 minutes away, St. Tropez is an hour away, and the nearby town of Grasse – perfume capital of the world – is only 15 minutes away. Among the many additional local attractions are the Lac de St. Cassien, the Gorge de Verdon, and skiing in the winter season less than 2 hours away.

The new Four Seasons Resort at Terre Blanche is in the valley below Montauroux. The resort offers 2 championship golf courses, 4 restaurants and an extensive spa facility.

Villa Dominante is in an area ideally suited for lovers of food and wine; the area boasts several excellent restaurants, one of the finest fois gras farms in the country, produce markets and local wine vineyards.

The owners have compiled a guide to all of the local amenities and attractions – this is available in the villa and will be emailed to you on booking. It includes details of nearby restaurants, markets, vineyards, golf courses, where to shop, and information on the neighbouring towns and villages.
